Today, World Wildlife Fund celebrates World Rhino Day to raise awareness about this endangered animal. At its inception in 2010, the organization wanted to spread the word about the dangers of poaching and illegal trading. Teaming up with the Kenya Wildlife Service, WWF has worked to install microchips into black rhino horns, which will help them collect data and crack down on poachers. The organization also works to airlift rhinos into safer reserves where populations can thrive.
