UGA Researches Melting Ice in Greenland

Greenland’s sheet ice is melting freshwater around the island, causing people to worry about its effects on the sea level rising and whether this is due to global warming. UGA researchers traveled to Greenland to see where the freshwater was going and its effects on the environment. The research team urges that the scientific community will have to keep an eye on how much of water melts into the ocean in the coming years and how it will interact with the currents and wildlife living in and around it.
